In this space you may get to know and check different information mechanisms available for CARRIS customers, tailored to their needs of real time information.
CARRIS uses an information system that works on real time, the SAEIP based on a precise knowledge of each vehicle position (by GPS system) that when is transmitted to the Traffic Command Center allows:
.to transmit reliable information on real time to the customers
.to promote passengers and crew members security
·to do a better management on bus lines under exploration
·to guarantee an efficient operational planning

  SAEIP Panels 

CARRIS has started on April 2001 the process of implementation of electronic panels on bus stops, with information about estimated time (minutes) of bus arrival, allowing the customer to manage his own waiting time on bus stops. This is a continuous process of the company that, presently, has 350 installed panels.

  SMS Carris 

CARRIS SMS text messaging system has as main purpose to give information, by mobile phone, about up-to-date bus schedules. CARRIS make it possible to check last minute information about bus passage time on each bus stop.

How can I use this service?

1 – Check the waiting times (in minutes) for all vehicles that pass by a certain bus stop;
2 – Text "C" (space) Bus Station Code and send to 3599 (€0,30 per message);
3 – Check the waiting times for the next three vehicles that pass by a certain bus stop;
4 – Text "C" (space) Bus Station Code (space) Bus Number and send to 3599 (€0,30 per message);

How can I use this service?

Using Carris search engine:

  • Access to the search engine at the top of the page and select "Station Codes" option;
  • Select the zone where the bus stop you are looking for is;
  • Check the options given by the system, select from which bus stop do you want to get information and then press "message";
  • Type your e-mail and in a few moments you will receive a message with the waiting times for the bus stop you selected;

Using your own e-mail:

  • Check the codes list and select the bus station code you are looking for;
  • On the e-mail body write the following text "C (space) bus station code";
  • Send it to sms@carris.pt and in a few moments you will receive a message with the information you requested.
